Oflag IID - Gross-Born: plan of "block III" with the numbered barracks that make it up. Inside them are the 4 "stube" (rooms) numbered 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 and the number of prisoners:
1 - in each "stube", the number of prisoners is indicated in the box of the room next to its number,
2 - for each "barrack", the number of prisoners is indicated at the end of each one.
At the time this plan was drawn up (by an unknown person), the total number of prisoners in block III was 1044, but unfortunately the date of creation of this plan is not known.
This plan was probably drawn up in the first few months of captivity because the number of prisoners was still very high.
It was probably not drawn up at the very beginning of the captivity, in June-July 1940, because the number of prisoners per "Stube" often reached 48, which represented a total of about 200 prisoners per barrack!
At the beginning of July 1940, Oflag IID had more than 6,000 prisoners, and block III alone had more than 2,000.
